I’ve faced a lot of big transformations during my career. Analog to digital. Wild West to organized. Small-scale to enterprise-scale. And now, with AI doing to knowledge work what the Internet did to publishing, I find myself with a front-row seat and a lot of opinions.
Although I’m concentrating now on strategic operations for tech teams, a big chunk of my background is in content and media production, going way back to the toy typewriter I got for Christmas when I was three. You won’t see my byline anywhere but here, though, because I’ve mostly worked behind the scenes. I write fiction — OK, romantasy — as a hobby and am slowly gathering courage to *think* about querying.
Favorite movie: Star Wars (aka Episode IV: A New Hope). This is the first movie my dad ever took me to, and one of my fondest memories.
Favorite TV show: Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Very psyched for the reboot. Was very psyched for the reboot, which is apparently not going forward. 🙁
Favorite band: Tossup between The Goo Goo Dolls and My Chemical Romance, with an occasional side of Def Leppard. It depends on the mood I’m in. Spotify Wrapped nailed it, however.
Favorite literary author: Jane Austen. I’m an English major. Did you expect any different?
My partner, John, and I live in the Pacific Northwest, regularly commiserate about the rain and gloom, and are the proud cat parents of, from left, Jessie, Buffy, and Angel.
